Chud

A few weeks ago, Chud, a former co-worker of mine, volunteered to have his photo taken and I jumped at the chance.

I wanted to check out what I thought was an parking lot of abandonned oldsmobiles, but that turned out to be a bust. Luckily, Chud used to live in that area and took me around to some train tracks where there was awesome graffiti and even a train which zoomed by.

Here are some of the photos from that outing, taking with my DSLR.

Third Anniversary in New York City

The Boy and I celebrated our three year anniversary this year which happened to coincide with a trip to New York City that we had planned. Though I have been visiting NYC regularly since I was a kid, the Boy had never been and so I was dying to show him to the Strand, the MoMA and Radio City Music Hall which are my favourite things about NYC.

Among other things, we had anniversary drinks at the infamous Algonquin Hotel, famous for its round table which sat the Viscous Circle (of which Dorothy Parker was a member), stopped by Tom's Restaurant (the one you see in Seinfeld) for coffee, hot chocolate and a delicious apple fritter and had the biggest, most delicious potato pancakes at a restaurant called Bloom's Deli.

Generally, I really hate NYC and this trip only reinforced my hatred for that city. It's dirty, rude and pompous, and far too hectic for its own good. I would hate to live there and so when we returned to clean, calm happy Toronto, both the Boy and I really felt true love for our home city.

Despite my negative feelings for the city, I cannot deny that it makes for some gorgeous photos every now and then, so here are some film, iPhone and digital shots from our recent visit to the Big Apple.

(All photos of me were taken by the Boy, obviously.)
We had amazing potato pancakes at this place. They were so huge that the Boy still can't hear "Potato Pancakes" without getting sick!
We found this guy dancing his ass off at 10am in the middle of Times Square on New Year's Day.
